The hatchery is the newest venture in our menagerie, starting officially in May 2023.

Whilst we have experienced poultry keepers on both sides of the family, it is something we had endeavoured to do ourselves but had simply not had the appropriate space until 2022.

We are currently in the process of building up both our duck and chicken flocks with a focus on heavy meat breeds.
Though we do sometimes hatch some prolific egg producing breeds.

It is extremely important to us that we focus primarily on heritage breeds that are on the Rare Breeds Survival Trust list and this is why we have chosen to specialise in Aylesbury ducks, a breed that hails from the Vale of Aylesbury area of our home county, Buckinghamshire.

We also have a small flock of Indian Runners in progress primarily for eggs and as pest control for our garden.

 

Working with our flocks for both meat and egg production means that we don't usually have birds available for the public to purchase.
We do, however, offer fertilised duck eggs and some hatchlings that don't fit in with our breeding plans.
